"It had never occurred to me to give personal training a try. I thought only athletes, body builders, celebrities, and people with a lot of money worked out with personal trainers. Plus, in my twisted way of thinking, I was way too out of shape to go to the gym and work out with a trainer!

Then, in May 2010 while recovering from a divorce, I knew I needed to start taking care of myself for a change. A friend of mine had been working out with Joe for several months, and, to basically shut her up, I finally agreed to go a session with her – once. I felt so intimidated and self-conscious. On that first visit, I did the same exercises as my friend, but Joe tailored them to my fitness level. It was a relief to know that he understood an overweight 49-year-old woman who had not regularly exercised in years could not be expected to do the same exercises at the same intensity as an athletic 25-year-old. At the end of the session, Joe asked if I would come back. Even though I was extremely frustrated with myself and embarrassed by the shape I was in, I decided to give it a few more tries. It’s been 3 ½ years now. I’m over 40 pounds lighter and healthier mentally and physically than I have been in many, many years. I have much more self-confidence, and shopping for clothes is finally fun instead of being a chore.

Thanks, Joe. Couldn’t have done it without you." -Lisa Jordan
